The baby seals massed below the ship and waited patiently for the hunters to disembark. Each climbed down the rope ladder with their clubs and knives. Each looked for their prey with a malicious glint in their eye.
When all had reached the ice, the ship sank leaving only ripples and swirling eddies where it had been. Then the ice the hunters were on broke off and started floating out to sea.
The hunters screamed, but it was too no avail. The baby seals pushed the ice out beyond the reach of land and then started chipping away at it from below. The hunters never saw the baby seals until they were floating face down in the cold, briny sea.
